Grand Comics Database

Series, issue, creator, character, genre and publication-date information in this product comes from the Grand Comics Database™, a volunteer project that has catalogued comics since 1994. We could not build this without them.

GCD data is used under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported licence. The database is theirs; the mistakes we make with it are ours.

Cover images are not part of the GCD dataset and are not used here; every photograph in your listings is one you took.

PriceCharting

The PRICECHARTING chip on a review row is that comic's, game's or figure's current value from PriceCharting, shown with their written permission. Each chip links to their page for the item. It sits beside your price and never sets it, and it shows only on your own review screen.

Discogs

Records are checked against the catalogue of Discogs. From their monthly data dump we keep each vinyl release's title, artist, labels and catalogue numbers, barcodes, and size and speed. The barcode or catalogue number read from your photographs is looked up there to confirm the record or flag a misread number; a blank size or speed is filled when every matching pressing agrees; and a record matched to exactly one pressing carries that release id in the Discogs inventory file. Nothing else is filled, nothing is sent to Discogs while you list, and Discogs never prices a record here.

The dump is published under CC0, which asks for no credit; we give it anyway. Catalogue data from Discogs (CC0).

Your own listing history

Series titles and publisher names are spelled the way you spell them, learned from the eBay exports you upload and from every batch you approve. That catalogue belongs to your account and is never shared between sellers.

Identification

Covers are read from your photographs. The database fills what the read leaves blank, and where the two disagree the row is flagged for you.

Text is set in Inter (The Inter Project Authors) and headings in Bricolage Grotesque (The Bricolage Grotesque Project Authors), both under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 and both served from this site.
