Getting started

What is Point and Sell?

You take photos of your comics (or books, records, games and more) and we write the eBay listings for you. You check every row on one review screen, then list on eBay with one press once eBay is connected, or download the file. The same batch can also give you Whatnot and Shopify files, and a Discogs file for records.

What can I list with it?

Comics, graphic novels and trades, books, magazines, vinyl records, video games, Funko Pops, DVDs and Blu-rays, and CDs and cassettes. New: tabletop RPGs, D&D and other RPG books, modules and boxed sets. Each goes in its own eBay category with that category's item specifics, except that a graphic novel or a magazine goes in the comics or the books category. Everything except books is read from photos; a book is looked up from its ISBN, typed or read off the barcode.

Can I list toys, trading cards, clothes or electronics?

Not right now. Funko Pops are the only toys on the list, and trading cards, clothes, shoes and electronics are not covered. More categories are added once they can be identified without guessing, but there are no dates yet.

Can I mix comics and records in one batch?

A batch is one kind of thing, so a mixed haul goes in as one batch per kind: comics in one, records in another, DVDs in a third.

What do I need before my first box?

For the box itself, just the photos. To list on eBay you need an eBay seller account with business policies turned on (shipping, returns and payment). Settings then asks for your item location, postal code and the exact names of your eBay shipping policies, and the setup panel on your home page names anything still blank.

How do I sign up?

Enter your email on the sign-in page and we send you a sign-in link or a six-digit code. There is no password. Your first 20 listings are free with no card.

I did not get my sign-in email.

Check your spam or promotions folder first, then ask for a new one from the sign-in page. Sign-in links and codes only work for a short time, so use the newest one. If it still does not arrive, write to [email protected].

Can I see what it does before I sign up?

Yes, two ways. Try one item free at pointandsell.com/try with no email, or open the sample batch (ten comics on the real review screen, read only) from the front page.

How long does a batch take?

Not long. On Shoot a box the photos upload while you shoot, so there is nothing to wait for at the end. You can close the tab while the covers are read: we email you when a batch is ready to review, and Settings can turn that email off.

Is there a help page or guides?

Yes. This Help (pointandsell.com/help) searches every written answer, and pointandsell.com/faq has the short list of common questions. The Guides cover things like item specifics, lots, custom labels, store categories, graded comics, Whatnot and Shopify files. There are also free seller tools, like fee calculators and a title builder, under Free tools.

Who made Point and Sell?

Winston, a comic seller in Chandler, Arizona, who built it to list his own long boxes and then opened it to other sellers. His story is on the About page.

How accurate is it?

On comics, around 99 percent, measured on real phone photos of real boxes. Obscure comics are harder than common ones, so you still check every row on the review screen, and nothing goes to eBay until you approve it.

The free try

What is the free try?

At pointandsell.com/try you take or upload one photo and see the finished eBay listing in about 30 seconds. No email and no card. It uses the same cover reader and listing builder as a real batch.

What can I try?

A comic's front cover, a book's barcode (or type its ISBN), a record's front cover, a game's front cover, the front of a Funko Pop box, the front of a DVD or Blu-ray case, or a CD or cassette cover. Pick the kind at the top of the page first.

What photo formats does the try take?

JPEG, PNG, HEIC or WebP, up to 20 MB. On a phone you can take the photo right there; on a computer you can drag a photo onto the box.

Does the try list anything on eBay?

No. Nothing is listed anywhere. The photo and the listing are deleted after 24 hours unless you sign up from the result.

What happens if I sign up from the try?

The listing you just made comes with you, as a batch of one waiting on your review screen, and it counts as one of your free listings. Then you can do the rest of the box with the others.

The try said it could not read my cover.

Sometimes a photo cannot be read, so no listing is made that time. Try a straight-on photo of the front cover on a plain, light surface in good light. A small daily limit applies to free tries.

Trial, plans and prices

How does the free trial work?

Listings 1 to 20 are free with just your email, no card. At your 21st listing we ask for a card, and listings 21 to 50 are still free. Your plan starts on the card at your 50th listing or 30 days after the card goes on, whichever comes first. Cancel before either and you pay nothing.

Can I get the free listings more than once?

No. The 20 free listings and the trial are once per email inbox. A second address that reaches the same inbox (like a +tag or a Gmail dot) only gets what the first has not used, and the free listings without a card are also limited per internet connection.

I already used my trial. What happens when I pick a plan?

The plan starts that day on the card you enter and renews until you cancel. Plan & billing tells you this before you confirm.

What plans do you have?

Hobby is $19 a month for 100 listings, Starter $49 for 500, Pro $99 for 1,500, Volume $199 for 5,000, and Shop $299 for 5,000 with up to five people signed in to one account. Bigger sellers can talk to us about Enterprise.

Is there yearly billing?

Yes, every plan can be billed yearly at 20 percent off: Hobby $182.40, Starter $470.40, Pro $950.40, Volume $1,910.40 and Shop $2,870.40 a year. You still get your listings every month. You pick monthly or yearly when the card goes on, and the free trial is the same either way.

Do the plans have different features?

No. Every plan has every feature. The plans differ in how many listings you get a month, and the Shop plan lets several people work in one account.

What is Enterprise?

For shops listing more than 5,000 a month: a custom allowance, as many sign-ins as the shop needs, and invoiced billing. A store too big to load in full gets each comic's crosslisting count from eBay's own inventory report, read once a day. Email [email protected] to talk about it.

Is there a free plan?

No. You get the free listings and the trial to try it properly, then a paid plan.

Do I pay extra for Whatnot, Shopify or Discogs?

No. One price covers every marketplace file. There is no add-on per marketplace.

What counts as a listing?

A comic, a lot, a book, a magazine, a record, a game, a Funko Pop, a movie or a CD is one listing each. So is a tabletop RPG book, module or boxed set. A photographed item counts when its photos are read, including covers you later make into a lot; a typed row counts when you approve the batch.

How is a lot counted?

A lot you shoot with the Lot button on Shoot a box, or type, counts as one listing. A lot you build from comics shot one at a time counts each comic in it, because each cover was read. During the free trial every lot counts as one.

When do my listings reset?

On the 1st of each month (UTC). Your home page and Plan & billing show how many you have used.

What happens if I hit my monthly limit?

A batch that would go over is refused before it is read (a typed batch, before it is approved), and the message tells you how many you have left. You can move to a bigger plan from Plan & billing, or wait for the reset on the 1st.

Does it cost anything to re-make a file for a batch I already approved?

No. Getting the Whatnot or Shopify file later from a finished batch does not use more listings, though like approving it needs a plan on or free listings left.

Shooting photos

How should I photograph comics?

On a plain, light table or mat, one comic at a time, front cover first. Then shoot whatever you normally do: back cover, corners, inside cover. Front cover first matters, because that is what gets read.

Do I have to move photos off my phone?

No. Open the site on your phone, sign in and press Shoot a box. It counts your shots for each comic and uploads as you go. If you prefer your phone's own camera app, move the photos to your computer and pick them on the New batch form.

How does Shoot a box work?

It opens the camera and counts the comic and the shot (like "Comic 12, shot 7 of 10") as you go. Each comic uploads when you move to the next one. Press Done after the last comic and the batch is sent to be read; nothing goes on eBay until you check it.

How do I shoot a lot on Shoot a box?

Press Lot before you shoot it, then shoot all of it and press Next comic when the lot is done. A lot shot this way counts as one listing.

The camera will not open on Shoot a box.

Your browser may be blocking the camera for the site. On iPhone Safari or Android Chrome, open the site settings from the address bar, allow Camera, then reload. If you opened the link inside Facebook, Instagram or an email app, open it in Safari or Chrome instead.

I uploaded photos from my computer. How does it know which photos go together?

By default each photo is one item. Choose Several photos per comic in Settings and photos are grouped by your shot count or by the pause between comics, so leave a pause when you switch.

Is there a phone app?

The Point and Sell apps for iPhone and Android are coming soon. Until then, Shoot a box works in your phone's browser.

Are my photos cropped?

A photo that is plainly one whole comic on the table is cropped in close. Anything doubtful is left as shot. You can undo a crop on the review screen, and Settings turns cropping off. Cropping does not use any listings.

How do I shoot records, games, Funko Pops, movies and CDs?

Same idea, in a set order. For games: front, back with the UPC, cartridge or disc, then manual. For Funko: box front, back with the UPC, then the figure. For records: sleeve front, back, then labels and inserts. For movies and CDs: front, back with the UPC, then the disc or tape. Settings lets you set how many shots each kind gets, and a batch can set its own. Tabletop RPGs are three shots each (front, back, then the title or copyright page), changed on the batch's form.

Can it read a loose game cartridge with no barcode?

Yes. The title and console are read off the label and the shape of the cart or disc. The barcode is a bonus: it lets the price guide find that exact copy. A cart without one still lists, and the price guide looks it up by its title and console instead.

How do I list books?

Books are looked up from the ISBN. Type the ISBNs in the book list, or photograph the barcode. You pick each book's condition and price on the review screen.

Boxes, labels and SKUs

What is the box label?

It is the name you give a box when you start a batch, like 76TR. Every listing gets a custom label (eBay calls it the SKU) made from the box and the slot, so 76TR-012 is box 76, comic 12. When something sells, the label tells you exactly where to find it.

Can I change how the SKU looks?

Yes. Settings, Boxes and SKUs, has the SKU pattern. The default makes labels like 76TR-001.

Are 71, 71W and 71TR the same box?

By default, yes: the number is the box, so they share one count. Turn on "Each box label is its own box" in Settings if you want them counted separately. Turning it on never reuses a SKU.

Why should I give it my active listings?

So it knows what you already have live. That powers the duplicate check, the next label for a box, Stale stock, Whatnot shows, Box profit and each comic's count for crosslisting. With eBay connected, press Read my listings now on the eBay page before a listing session. Without a connection, upload Seller Hub's active listings report after each listing session.

What is the Boxes page?

Profit per box. It shows what is live from each box, what has sold, fees, and, once you type what the box cost you, whether it has paid for itself and roughly how many weeks until it does.

What is the Audit?

Shoot a box like a normal batch, and instead of listing it you get a comparison with your live listings: listed but not in the box, in the box but not listed, and comics that sit inside a lot listing. It lists nothing on its own.

The review screen

What is the review screen?

Every row is one listing, shown beside its cover. Each row goes to eBay exactly as you approve it, so this is where you check and fix anything. The rows that need a look are marked so you can check those first.

What if it gets something wrong?

You catch it before it lists. Nothing goes to eBay until you approve it, and any field can be retyped. Obscure comics are harder than common ones, which is what the review screen is for.

Which fields do I have to fill in?

On a comic, usually none. A book needs its condition and a price, and its type and fiction or nonfiction if the lookup did not say. Records need a grade, and games, Funko Pops, movies and CDs a condition (Settings can set a default for each). Blank override boxes use your account's defaults.

What do the chips on a row mean?

They are advice, never a block. WORTH MORE and CHECK THIS ONE mean a key-issue database thinks it is worth more than your price. DUPLICATE means you already have it live. SAME COMIC AS ROW N means two rows may be one comic. YOUR HISTORY is your own sell-through. PRICECHARTING is the price guide's value, and OPINION (if you turn it on) is a rough estimate.

What does "Year estimated" mean on a row?

The comic's year was not found for sure, so the year (or only eBay's Era) was estimated from the catalogue or the cover date and the row is flagged for you. Buyers see a normal listing. Your own pages say it as an estimate, like "about 2003" on Inventory for a comic not listed yet and on the run of show sheet. Check the cover and type the year if it differs.

Can I change the title?

Yes. Each row shows the title eBay will get and its length. Type your own in the Title box (up to eBay's 80 characters) and yours wins. The Variant box puts things like "Cover B" or "2nd printing" in the title so two versions of one issue are not twin listings.

How do I set prices?

It shows price estimates from several sources, and you decide the price. You type one starting price for the batch, then change any row's price on the review screen, with the chips beside it: PriceCharting's value for comics, games and Funko Pops, your own sales history and key issue checks for comics, and a rough estimate if you turn it on. On a box of 12 or more rows, one control changes every row still at one price to another price. A price rule you set in Settings can fill blank prices for you; it never changes a price you typed.

How do I set the grade or condition?

Type it in the row's Grade box. If you leave it blank, your Default grade from Settings goes in the description. The eBay condition for comics is set once in Settings.

Can the grade go in the title?

Yes. Turn on "Put the condition in comic titles (VF, NM, FN)" in Settings. It adds the grade from the row's Grade box, in capitals, after the issue number on raw single comics. An empty Grade box adds none, a Revise keeps a live title as listed, and a title you typed yourself is kept as is.

How do I list a graded (slabbed) comic?

Tick graded on the row, then fill in Grader, Slab grade and Cert # from the label, and type the slab's own price. The grader and grade go in the title and eBay's grade fields. We never decide a comic is graded from a photo and never estimate a grade.

How do I fix photos on a row?

Under each photo you can turn it, flip it, crop it yourself, tighten the crop, make it the cover, remove it, or start a new item at that photo. The cover has its own undo. Merge up folds a row's photos into the row above.

Two rows are really one comic. How do I fix that?

Tick merge up on the second row and its photos fold into the row above. If one row holds two comics, use the cut button under the photo where the second comic starts.

Can I add an item that has no photo?

Yes. On a comic batch, use Add a comic by hand on the review screen. A typed row with no photo goes up with a placeholder picture, and the done page tells you how many rows that is.

Are there keyboard shortcuts?

Yes, on the comic review screen with a keyboard. Press ? to see them: j and k move between rows, p and g jump to price and grade, l ticks lot, and Esc leaves a box. No key can approve a batch.

What happens when I press Approve?

The file is built and checked against eBay's rules. If something would be refused, it names the row and nothing is sent. If a setting is missing, like your item location, the done page says so: fill it in and download again, with no need to approve again.

Can I go back and edit a batch after approving?

Yes. Press edit again on the batch's done page, make your changes and approve again.

Lots

How do I make a lot?

Tick lot on the first row of the run, type the issues (like 1-8, or 1,2,5) and type the lot's own price. Tick merge up on any other rows that hold photos of the same lot. A lot cannot be approved at the box's single-comic price.

What does "complete" do on a lot?

Tick complete if the lot is every issue of the series. The title says Complete Series and the listing goes to your complete-series store category, unless one of your own store rules catches it first.

Can I turn singles that did not sell into a lot?

Yes. Stale stock offers runs of three or more stale singles of one series in one box. Tick them, press Make a lot of the ticked rows, and a new batch opens with their photos for you to price. After the lot is listed, its page gives you the End file for the singles. List the lot first, then end the singles.

It says lot vs live singles. What does that mean?

It is not a duplicate. It means some issues in this lot are live as singles in your store and will compete with it on price.

Auctions and Buy It Now

Can I list as auctions?

Yes. On the New batch form or Shoot a box, choose Auction instead of Buy It Now, pick 1, 3, 5, 7 or 10 days, and set the opening bid as a flat amount or a fraction of each row's price. Settings remembers your usual choice.

Can one batch be part auction and part Buy It Now?

Yes. On the review screen the On eBay as panel changes the whole batch, and the auction tick on each row sends just that row as an auction.

Can an auction also have a Buy It Now price?

Yes. Each auction row on the review screen has a Buy It Now box: empty means none. A price there has to be at least 30 percent above the row's opening bid, which is eBay's rule.

Why was my auction row refused for quantity?

An auction is one item. Set the row's quantity to 1 first.

Will you fill in the opening bid for me?

No, you always choose it. A box that opens at full price gets no bids, and one that opens at a dollar can sell a $40 book for a dollar.

Uploading to eBay

How do I get my listings onto eBay?

Two ways. Connect eBay once, then on the batch's done page tick "I checked every row" and press List on eBay. Or download the eBay file and upload it yourself in Seller Hub, Reports, Upload; the walkthrough is on the done page.

Can I do both, send it and upload the file?

No, do one or the other. The same file sent twice lists every row twice.

How do I connect my eBay account?

Open the eBay page in the menu and press Connect eBay. eBay asks you to agree once, on eBay's own page. You can disconnect from the same page at any time.

What can Point and Sell do once eBay is connected?

Read your live listings and unshipped orders, read views and fees, hear from eBay when something sells, and send a batch, End file or price change only when you press the button for it. With crosslisting on and eBay quantity changes switched on for your account, it also lowers a listing's quantity after a sale elsewhere, and ends it when none are left. It never ships, refunds or messages anyone.

What does "validated" mean on the done page?

The file passed eBay's file rules: titles within 80 characters, item specifics within eBay's limits, numeric store categories, matched shipping policies, and every photo in place. eBay can still refuse a row now and then.

eBay refused some rows. Now what?

If you listed with eBay connected, the batch page shows which rows went live and why the others were refused; fix them with edit again and send again, and only the refused rows go. If you uploaded the file yourself, drop eBay's upload report on the done page to get a file of only the refused rows. Never upload the full file twice.

Something on a live listing is wrong. Can I fix it from here?

Yes, once the batch knows its eBay item numbers. Press edit again, fix the row, approve, and send the Revise (or download the Revise file). It changes titles, prices and item specifics in place and leaves photos and quantity alone.

How do I change photos on a live listing?

Use the Photos Revise file on the batch's done page, or send it with eBay connected. It swaps the live listings' photos for the batch's current ones (after a crop, a flip or a new cover) and changes nothing else.

Where are my photos hosted?

We host them, and eBay copies them when the listing is created. That is why the listing photos of approved batches are kept while your listings are live.

Will it warn me about duplicates?

Yes, if it knows your live listings. A row you already have live gets a DUPLICATE chip with the eBay item number, so you can decide what to do before listing.

Whatnot

Does it work with Whatnot?

Yes. When you create a batch, tick where it goes: eBay, a Whatnot live auction, a Whatnot Buy It Now store, or any mix. A live auction batch gets Whatnot's show file and a run-of-show sheet; a Buy It Now batch gets the store file. You upload the files on Whatnot yourself.

Why are my Whatnot prices whole dollars?

Whatnot only takes whole-dollar prices, so every Whatnot file rounds each price up to the next whole dollar. A $2.99 comic goes in as $3. The done page says so.

I forgot to tick Whatnot. Can I still get the file?

Yes. Open the finished batch from Batches. Before eBay has its listings, press "Also make the Whatnot Buy It Now file" or the live auction one. Once eBay has them, the done page's Files from this batch panel gives you the Whatnot, Shopify or Discogs file of that batch, less what has sold. Neither uses more listings.

How do I prep a Whatnot show from comics already on eBay?

Open Whatnot shows, pick a box, and you get the show file and run-of-show sheet from what is still live on eBay, in box order, with the opening bid you choose.

How do I prep a Whatnot show from my counts?

With crosslisting on, open Whatnot shows, then Show prep from your counts. Pick comics by box, a list of labels, days listed or a price range. Each comic goes in with no more copies than your count, and a comic whose count is 0 or unknown is left out with the reason. Make the show, then download the Whatnot show file and the run of show sheet.

What happens to what did not sell in the show?

Press Show over on the show's page. The leftovers are worked out from the sales the log heard. A leftover still live on eBay stays as it is, and crosslisting keeps its quantity in step. One that is not live on eBay goes in an eBay file at the show's price, checked like every eBay file, for you to upload.

What is live-show mode?

A setting under Settings, Other sites. While your Whatnot show is on, your other sites show fewer copies of each comic (at most the number you pick, one by default), so a sale that settles late cannot sell a copy twice. Press Show starting when you go live and Show over at the end; it also turns itself off after the hours you set. Whatnot shows every copy, a comic with one copy always shows it, and your count never changes because of it. Off unless you turn it on.

After a Whatnot show, how do I take the sold comics off eBay?

Paste the sold SKUs on the show page. It previews which eBay listings it would end and gives you the End file, or with eBay connected you tick the box and press End on eBay. A listing with several copies is named, not ended.

Can I upload the Whatnot file from my phone?

Whatnot's bulk file upload is on its website, not in its app, so you need a computer for that step.

Shopify and Discogs

Does it work with Shopify?

Yes. Connect your store on the Shopify page and a batch's products are made there with one press, or import the Shopify products file yourself. Products from the file land as drafts unless you turn on "Publish new products as soon as they are imported" in Settings. You can get the file from a batch or from a box on the show page.

What can go to Shopify?

Comics, graphic novels, books and magazines, and tabletop RPGs. Records, games, Funko Pops, movies and CDs go to eBay and Whatnot, not Shopify, for now.

Can you connect directly to my Shopify store?

Yes. Tick Shopify when you start a batch, and the finished batch's "Add to your Shopify store" panel has the link to connect your store, once. Then a batch's products are made in the store when you press the button on the batch, and with eBay's sale notices on, a comic that sells on eBay comes off sale in the store. A store sale is recorded too, and with crosslisting on it lowers the count on your other connected sites.

Does it work with Discogs?

Yes, for vinyl records. A record batch can give you a Discogs inventory file to upload on Discogs under Inventory, then Import/Export CSV. Records matched to exactly one pressing carry their release id; the rest are named so you can list them on Discogs by hand.

If a record sells on Discogs, does it come off eBay?

Not by itself: we do not hear about Discogs sales. Press Sold elsewhere on the record in Inventory and, with crosslisting on, the count drops and your other connected sites follow. Or end the eBay listing yourself.

Crosslisting and sale notices

Does it crosslist?

It makes listings for four marketplaces from one batch: eBay, Whatnot, Shopify (products file) and Discogs (records). You tick where a box goes instead of typing it again. It does not post to Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, Etsy or Facebook Marketplace. Crosslisting is in every plan once you turn it on in Settings: each comic has one count, a sale on eBay or your connected Shopify store lowers it, and your other connected sites are changed to match, usually within minutes, with every step in a log you can read. Whatnot and Discogs take files you upload for now, and one tap marks a sale made there, on HipComic or in person. eBay's quantity is changed for you where that is switched on for your account; otherwise the log says what to lower on eBay.

When something sells on one marketplace, does it come off the others automatically?

Yes, once you turn crosslisting on. Two sales close together on two sites can still both go through, so check the log. With eBay connected and sale notices on, you also get an email when an eBay sale is in a Whatnot, Shopify or Discogs file. After a Whatnot show, paste the sold labels to get the eBay End file.

How do I turn crosslisting on?

Settings, Other sites: tick "Keep my other sites in step automatically" and save. It is in every plan, and only the account owner can change it. The same page shows, for each site, whether it is automatic for you now or files only, and what it takes. Each comic's count starts from your active listings.

Which sites are automatic?

eBay and a connected Shopify store. eBay sales come in by themselves, and eBay's quantity is changed for you where that is switched on for your account; otherwise the log says what to lower. Whatnot sales made through your Shopify store with Whatnot's Shopify app count by themselves too. Otherwise Whatnot and Discogs take files you upload for now, and a sale there, on HipComic or in person is marked with one tap. Direct Whatnot and HipComic connections are coming once each site gives us access.

How do I mark something sold somewhere else?

Open the comic on the Inventory page, press Sold elsewhere, pick where (Whatnot, HipComic, Shopify if your store is not connected, or in person or elsewhere) and how many, and press Mark sold. The count drops once, even on a double tap. If a Whatnot sale of that comic was already counted through your store lately, it asks before counting it again.

Where do I see what crosslisting did?

The crosslisting log, linked from Settings, Other sites: every sale and every change on each site, newest first, like "15AA-007: 1 sold on Whatnot (marked by you), count 3 to 2". It never shows a buyer.

What are sale notices?

With eBay connected and sale notices turned on (on the eBay page), eBay tells us the moment something sells and the sale is recorded. That feeds the sold-elsewhere email, Box profit and your sale history.

Can I get an email for every eBay sale?

Yes. Settings, Every eBay sale by email: one email per sale, every 30 minutes, every hour, or once a day around 6 AM Arizona time. Each one names the SKU, the box, the title, the price and the order number. You can add up to five more addresses, and each one confirms by link.

I get two emails for one sale.

You should not. While Every eBay sale by email is on, the note about the item also being in a Whatnot, Shopify or Discogs file goes in that same email. If you still see doubles, write to [email protected].

Pick list and orders

What is the pick list?

This morning's orders as a walk through your boxes. With eBay connected, press Read my orders from eBay; or drop Seller Hub's orders report on the page. You get one sheet sorted by box then slot, with a tick box for each.

Can the pick list include Whatnot sales?

Yes. Paste the SKUs from a Whatnot post-show report and they join the same sheet. A line like "Show: name" or "W2" in the paste starts that show's own pile.

Can I pack by order?

Yes. Every order is numbered by ship-by date, and a Pack by order section starts on its own printed page.

Does the pick list keep my buyers' details?

No. With Record these sales ticked, we keep the order number, item number, SKU, title, quantity, price and date. Never the buyer.

Stale stock and price changes

What is Stale stock?

Every live listing older than the number of days you pick, grouped by box, with days listed, watchers and your history for the series. Once you read views on the eBay page, it also shows how often each listing was seen and opened in the last 90 days.

How do I mark down old listings?

On Stale stock, tick rows, take a percentage off or set a flat price, and preview. Then download the price-only Revise file, or with eBay connected press the button to change the prices on eBay now. Nothing changes until you do one of those.

Will Stale stock mark down my auctions?

No. Live auction rows are skipped and the page says so.

Price guide and price rule

What is the PRICECHARTING chip?

It is PriceCharting's current value for that exact comic, game or Funko Pop, and it links to their page for the item. It sits beside your price, and you decide the price (a price rule you set can use it to fill a blank price). Rows it cannot match for sure get no chip, and lots, records and books are not covered.

Can I turn the price guide off?

Yes, in Settings, Photos: "Show PriceCharting's value beside each comic, game and figure". It is on by default and does not use any listings.

What is the price rule?

An optional line in Settings, Pricing: list at a percent of PriceCharting's value, never below a floor you set, and end in .99 if you like. Leave a batch's starting price blank to use it. Rows it priced say PRICED BY YOUR RULE on review.

What will the price rule not price?

It only fills rows with no price that PriceCharting matched for sure, for comics, games and Funko Pops. It never changes a price you typed, and never prices a lot, a slab or an opening bid. A blank percent means the rule is off.

What is the OPINION chip?

An optional rough estimate of what a comic typically sells for, turned on in Settings. Treat it as a second opinion on cheap books and ignore it on keys. It uses one cover's worth of your allowance per 25 comics.

Do you set my prices?

It shows price estimates from several sources, and you decide the price. Every price is one you typed, arithmetic on a number you typed (like a percentage off), or your own price rule. You see it before any file is made.

Settings

What do I need to fill in under Settings?

At minimum: your item location and postal code, and your eBay shipping policy names. If you have an eBay Store, add your store category numbers. Everything else has sensible defaults you can change.

How do I set up shipping policies?

Settings, Shipping, has two slots: Comics and books, and Parcel. For each, paste the business policy name and the service option from the same eBay policy (Seller Hub, Business policies). If they come from different policies, combined shipping breaks.

Which items go on the Parcel policy?

Magazines, manga, video games and Funko Pops go to Parcel by default. So do tabletop RPG boxed sets. Records, DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs and cassettes go on your default policy. A setting decides whether graded comics ship like raw ones or on Parcel.

How do store categories work?

If you have an eBay Store, paste the number of each store category (the number at the end of the category's URL); a name is refused. There are slots for cheaper singles, pricier singles (split at a price you set), complete runs, other lots, graphic novels, and one for each other kind.

Can I make my own store category rules?

Yes. Under the store category slots you can add rules for comics by publisher, series, era, year, format, single or lot, or price, each sent to a category of yours. They are tried in order and the first match wins. Books, records, games, Funko Pops, movies and CDs always go to their own slots.

Can I add my own text to every listing?

Yes. Write your description boilerplate once in Settings (your sale terms, shipping practices, anything every buyer should read). Books, records, games, Funko Pops, movies, CDs and Shopify each have their own.

Where do I set package size and weight?

Settings, Shipping package: the single comic package and weight, the big-lot package, ounces per comic in a lot and what the box adds. A weight typed on a review row always wins for that row.

Can I set best offers, returns and handling time?

Yes, under Listing defaults: accept best offers, accept returns, the returns window and handling time.

Shop plan and team logins

Can my staff use my account?

On the Shop plan, up to five people, you included, can sign in to one account. The owner adds each person by email under Settings, People. They sign in with their own address, accept once, and work in your account.

What can a team member not do?

Members cannot see billing, change the plan, or change who is on the account. A few switches, like the sale emails, are the owner's to set.

Can I see what my staff did?

The People list shows when each person last signed in, and each batch carries the address of whoever started it.

Can I add someone who already has a Point and Sell account?

No, an address with its own Point and Sell account cannot be added.

Billing and your account

How do I change my plan?

Sign in and open Plan & billing in the menu. A plan change takes effect as soon as you confirm it, and Stripe shows what it will charge or credit before you do. On yearly billing, what is left of the year comes back as credit toward the next charges, not as a refund. During the free trial, a plan change ends the trial and starts the new plan on the card that day.

What happens if I change plans during the free trial?

A plan change takes effect as soon as you confirm it, and Stripe shows what it will charge or credit before you do. On yearly billing, what is left of the year comes back as credit toward the next charges, not as a refund. During the free trial, a plan change ends the trial and starts the new plan on the card that day.

How do I cancel?

Open Plan & billing and press Manage billing, which also changes your card and shows your invoices. A cancelled plan stays active until the end of the month (or year) you already paid for.

How do I update my card or see invoices?

Plan & billing, then Manage billing. Payments are handled by Stripe and your card details never reach us.

Do you give refunds?

We do not refund charges already made, except where the law requires it. If something went wrong, write to [email protected] and we will look at it.

Will my price go up?

If we ever change your plan's price, we email you at least 30 days before it applies to you.

How do I delete my account?

Sign in and use Delete my account at the bottom of Settings (or go to pointandsell.com/settings/delete). We email you a six-digit code to confirm it is you; it works once, for 15 minutes. The account is deleted 30 days after you confirm (later, if a plan you canceled still has paid time or free trial left), and signing in again before then cancels the delete. Or choose Delete now on the same page to erase it at once. If you are on a paid plan, cancel it first.

What happens when I delete my account?

For the 30 days (or until a canceled plan's paid time or free trial ends, if that is later) you are signed out and the account is locked. Then everything in it is erased and cannot be undone: batches, boxes, sales, settings and your eBay connection. Delete now does the same at once. The listing photos of approved batches follow 90 days later, so live eBay listings do not lose their pictures overnight. Your eBay listings stay on eBay until you end them there.

I am a team member. Can I delete the shop's account?

No, that belongs to the owner. Ask the owner to remove you under Settings, People; after that, signing in gives you an account of your own.

How do I stop the product news emails?

Untick Product news in Settings, or use the unsubscribe link in any news email. Sign-in emails, batch emails and sale notices still arrive; Settings turns off the batch emails and sale emails separately.

Privacy

What do you keep?

Your email, your settings, your photos, the listings you approve, and the listings read from your reports (the report files themselves are not kept). From orders, the order number, item number, title, label, price, quantity and date of each sale. Never the buyer.

Do you sell my data?

No.

Who else sees my information?

Only the services we need to run the site, like payments, email, photo storage, identifying your items and the price guide. eBay gets only what you choose to send. The privacy page at pointandsell.com/privacy has the full list.

Are my photos private?

Your listing photos are stored at addresses nobody can guess, but anyone with a photo's address can open it, which is how eBay shows your listing pictures. Uncropped originals of an approved batch are deleted after 30 days.

Is my eBay connection safe?

The permission eBay gives us is stored encrypted, and we use it only as described on the eBay page. Disconnect any time and the permission is deleted.

Affiliate program

Do you have an affiliate program?

Yes. You earn 20 percent of every charge a seller you refer pays, on any plan up to Shop, for as long as they keep paying. There is no cap. Details and the full terms are at pointandsell.com/affiliates.

How do I join?

Sign in (the same free sign-in; no card needed to be an affiliate), open the affiliate page, pick a code and accept the terms. Your link is pointandsell.com/?from=your-code.

How long does a referral last?

Your link sets a 90-day cookie. A new account created within that window is yours for life. An account that already existed is not a referral, and neither is your own inbox under another address.

When and how do I get paid?

Each charge becomes payable 30 days later and goes out in the next payout run, by bank transfer through Stripe. You set that up once from your affiliate page. Balances under $1 wait for the next run.

Do I earn on the free trial?

No. Commission is on what the seller actually pays, so you earn from their first real charge.

Do I need to give tax details?

Yes. Stripe asks for them when you set up payouts, and if we pay you more than the IRS threshold in a year, we send you a 1099-NEC in January. If you are outside the US, talk to us first.

What are the main affiliate rules?

Say the link pays you, right next to it ("Paid link", "Ad" or "Sponsored"), and say it in the video itself, not just the description. No paid search ads on our name, no invented results or earnings promises, no suggesting eBay, Whatnot or Shopify endorse us, and follow each group's or subreddit's rules on links.

What about referrals who move to Enterprise?

For referrals made from 21 November 2026 on, an Enterprise agreement earns a flat $59.80 (20 percent of the Shop plan's price) for each month it is paid. Referrals made before that keep 20 percent of every charge.

Can a team member be an affiliate?

The program belongs to the account owner. A team member can join with an account of their own.

How do I stop being an affiliate?

Email [email protected] to close your code. Commissions you already earned are still paid.
