Comic key issue checker

Type a comic's series and issue number. See whether it is on Point and Sell's key issue list, and why: a first appearance, an origin, a death, or whatever the list says.

swamp thing #21 is on our list.

Why: The Anatomy Lesson, Moore's reinvention (for copies dated 1982 to 1996)

swamp thing has 4 other issues on our list:

  • #1: 1st solo series, Wein/Wrightson (for copies dated 1972 to 1974)
  • #20: Alan Moore's first issue (Loose Ends) (for copies dated 1982 to 1996)
  • #37: 1st appearance of John Constantine (for copies dated 1982 to 1996)
  • #100: Milestone issue (for copies dated 1982 to 1996)

What the list is

  • 606 key issues across 200 series. It is the list Point and Sell's review screen checks each comic against.
  • Not on our list does not mean not a key. Plenty of keys are not on it, so check a price guide or another key list as well.
  • It says why an issue is a key, not what it sells for. The pricing guide covers finding that out.
  • Capitals and a leading "The" do not matter, and punctuation counts as a space, so "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "amazing spider man" are one series. "#300", "300" and "0300" are one issue.
  • A series that was started over can have more than one #1. Where the list knows which run an entry is for, it gives the years. Check the year on your cover.

As the list files them: lower case, with punctuation as spaces.
