How TCGplayer works out its fees
- The marketplace commission is 10.75% for a Level 1 to 4 seller, 9.25% on a Pro account and 8.95% for a Direct seller. It is on the card and the shipping the buyer pays (on a Direct order, the card alone), capped at $75 a card. The cap is not on the shipping part.
- The Pro fee is another 2.5% on a Pro account, capped the same way.
- The transaction fee is 2.5% of everything the buyer pays (the card, the shipping and the tax), plus $0.30. On an international order it is 3.5% plus $0.30.
- Direct: a card at $2.49 or less pays 50% of its price and nothing else. Above that it pays $1.12 a card, the commission, the Pro fee if you have Pro, and a 2.5% transaction fee on the card alone.
- Rounding: TCGplayer rounds each fee to the cent with bankers rounding (half a cent goes to the even cent), and so does this page.
- Shipping the buyer pays is taken to pay for the postage, so what you keep is the card's price less the fees.
One card, one order. On an order of several cards the $0.30 is paid once and the cap is per card, so work each card out and take off the extra $0.30s. A Direct order has no $0.30 to take off.
Not counted: Sync accounts (Crystal Commerce, BinderPOS, Ion), whose sync fee is set by the sync provider and is not on TCGplayer's page; the PayPal fee for sellers outside the US; and any account TCGplayer's page sends to its support.
